Information for Students:
The Program: The CFMA Chicago Chapter Accounting Internship Program helps support summer internships by providing financial incentives to local area employers. The CFMA Chicago also aids participating employers in the candidate search process.
Duties: Interns are employed in an accounting or financial capacity in a construction environment (examples below)
When: Next cycle - Summer 2020
Qualifications: You must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and majoring in accounting
Selection: The selection process and hiring decisions are the responsibility of participating employers. CFMA Chicago is not the employer.
Compensation: As agreed by the participating employer and the student; must work a minimum of 250 hours
How to Apply: During 1st quarter of 2020 the committee will accept applications. At that time: Send your resume to Joel Dziedzic, Controller, Executive Construction Inc. and Intern Chairperson. Resumes are shared only with employers participating in the CFMA Chicago Chapter Intern Program. Deadline for submitting resumes will be April 30, 2020.
Examples of some of the duties include:
- Working with Corporate and General Accounting (A/P, A/R, quarterly closings, payroll, and budgeting)
- Working with Project Accounting and preparing job schedules
- Assisting with contract billings
- Visiting job sites and assisting with bidding
- Working with financial reporting
